Easter Weekend…Wrap Up :)

Saturday night at about 10:30, in typical Kate fashion, I was trying to figure out what my kids were going to wear for Easter. I decided they hadn’t grown too much since last year, and their outfits from Easter 2010 would work just fine. :)  The dress AnnaLeigh wore was a dress I made for Lilly Katherine’s second Easter.  The dress LK wore was a sweet Strasburg dress that matched the dress I made perfectly (and I bought it for $10 at the CCC Sale).  Not too bad for Easter dresses.

I had gotten everything laid out for church, and I was making my rounds before I went to bed.  I stopped into AnnaLeigh’s room and she was awake…and burning up.  My little Pinky went to bed feeling fine, but started feeling pitiful in the night.  It seems like every year someone has fever on Easter.  Crazy.  Brad didn’t feel well either, so they stayed home while I took P and LK to church.  After a WONDERFUL service, we went to Brad’s parents for lunch and an egg hunt.  (Yes, my sweet husband dressed up just because he thought I would want to take a family pic.  He’s pretty great like that!)  I thought this would be my opportunity to get a family pic, since the one on this post didn’t work out so well.  I was wrong…again!  Pinky felt like dirt, and the kids were hungry, tired, and ready for their Easter egg hunt.  Also, I just realized that all our family pics are posed the same way.  We’re so creative aren’t we?  Oh well… :)

Kids with Nana and Granddear (Brad’s parents).

The Hunt…

This maniac was OFF as soon as possible.

This pretty much sums up how AnnaLeigh felt…not too happy.

This happy little lady had so much fun.

Nana filled most of their eggs with MONEY! :) LK got the most money, of course.  She’s my lucky little maniac.

My poor Pinky couldn’t even eat lunch.  She was pretty miserable at this point, and the sweet thing fell asleep in my arms.  I hate when my kids are sick, but I do enjoy a little extra cuddle time.  I also enjoy how they want the comfort of their mama! :)

Nana and Granddear gave all the kids a few goodies, and Lilly Katherine’s most favorite Easter gift was her fancy shoes Kay (Nana) gave her.  They’re purple jelly flip-flops that LIGHT UP!  Did you know it’s very hard to take a picture of flashing lights on moving feet?  (Mom, Dad…please look at those toes!!!  She is me!) :)

Speaking of my mom and dad…

We went to their house Sunday night.  We go there every Sunday night, but this time we had dinner and an egg hunt.  Pinky still felt yucky, but like an irresponsible parent, I took her because I hated for her to miss Easter with the fam.

Egg hunt time.  LK cracked up at this egg’s hiding spot.

My little “bean counting” nephew, stopped to count his eggs in the middle of the hunt.  I think Caleb’s going to be an accountant, just like his daddy.  Preston was so excited, because he found the “special” egg.

Truett.  Sweet, wild Truett.  I love this kid!

The big kids searched and searched for the last egg, and they found it.  At Nana and Granddear’s house, the last egg remained hidden until my nephew found it that evening.

While everyone else hunted.  AnnaLeigh wanted Mimi to hold her.  My mother and I look just alike don’t we?  What?  You don’t think so?  Everyone says AnnaLeigh looks like my mom and Ashley.  I’m starting to see that she does look more like them than her own mother that carried her in her womb for 9 months, who birthed her, fed her, and loves on her constantly…but, whatever.  I guess my mom could have that same argument about me.  Oh well, Pinky is MY baby girl!

I call AnnaLeigh my blond.

I should call Lilly Katherine my blond…for different reasons. :)

Where am I going with this?  Here is a pic of my sick baby girl and my sweet mother!

Her is a pic of my sick baby girl and myself.  Hm…thinkin’ she looks more like her Mimi! This is my mom’s mom, Memama.  She also lives here, and she comes to dinner every Sunday night.  She’s a mess!  She’s a hard worker, and has devoted so much of her life to serving others through the Salvation Army.  She’s loud and crazy, and I love her!

Memama brought a little experiment for the kids.  They loved it!

Then Mimi gave all the kids a few goodies.  Look at that little hand reaching for her bubbles.  This was the first time AnnaLeigh smiled all day!We had a wonderful day.  We enjoyed talking about the REAL reason we celebrate Easter, and spending time with our family.  What a blessed day!
