I Am Going To Catch Up!

With all the lovely birthdays of last week, I have not yet posted anything from December.  In December I was too busy posting Thanksgiving.  I am SO behind, but I am going to post as much as I can right now so that I can be “caught up” on the old blog!

Wish me luck!

I’m going to need it, because I am having a hard time focusing as I watch old FRIENDS episodes.  Man, I miss that show!

In December…

We had a baby dedication at our church, and Georgia was a part of it…a very LOUD part of it!

We dedicated Georgia to the Lord, and it really was a special time.  We were able to do the dedication with my sister’s baby, Laurabeth, and their best friends, Eva, Thomas, and Henry.

They are in age order in this picture.  Laurabeth, Georgia, Eva, Thomas, and Henry My sweet baby had been quiet through most of the service, but the baby dedication was at the end.  About the time they called us up to the front, she had had enough.  She started screaming and literally nothing made her happy.  So all of us were at the front of the church and Georgia was WAILING!

Laurabeth’s dedication was first, and I’m not sure anyone heard any of it, due to someone’s very loud screaming!  Then our poor pastor said, “Sounds like Georgia is eager to be next,” so we were bumped up.  As soon as we got to the microphone, she was quiet…for a second. Brad read the verses we chose for her, which ended up being quite appropriate.

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

My crazy family (minus my brother’s fam)

Brad’s mom (Nana) and Georgia.

The whole crew…and NO, we did NOT plan to all wear the same thing!  Every boy is in a blue shirt (except Mere’s boys), and all the moms are in black and white.  I think we just spend so much time together lately that we share a brain.

Also in December…

We sang in a nursing home.  By far the funniest moment was when one of the children handed an elderly lady a candy cane.  She looked at him, politely handed it back, and told him he could eat it.  He said, “No!  It’s for you!”  She tried again to let him know it was okay, he could have it.  Finally, frustrated he said, “NO!  The candy canes are for the OLD people!”  Priceless!

LK was definitely the song leader of the group.

And AnnaLeigh was Miss Personality, as usual!  She was making sure that every single person she saw received one of the drawings the kids had made.

Also in December…

I gave Brad a gift that I knew he would love!  Our garage was HORRIBLE!  It was such a disaster…a big dark cave, full of strollers and balls!  For his birthday I gave him a surprise garage makeover.

I could NOT have done it without Brad’s dad!

I also had a crew come paint, because I wanted it to be a “while you were out” type surprise…and it would have been if my dear husband had not come home during the day (like his wife warned him not to!)  It was still exciting and a great gift to him, but just not the surprise I had hoped for…so there’s no picture of pure shock and joy on his face, but I still ended with the same result…a clean garage and a happy husband. :)

Don’t judge!  We have too much stuff!  WAAAAAAY too much stuff, but we have always managed to get 2 cars parked in the garage…it was just a MESS!

Okay, so I spent way too much time watching FRIENDS and not enough time posting.  I haven’t even gotten to Christmas yet!  There’s always tomorrow…except it’s 1:30, so I guess it already is tomorrow.  I’m not tired, but I know if I don’t go to bed, I’ll be as mean as I was today, so it’s time to say goodnight!

Nighty-night!
