Easter Pot Luck

Last weekend (the weekend before Easter) we had a huge pot luck and Easter Egg hunt at our church.  I love to eat, so what’s not to love about an endless table of food?

Good times had by all…except AnnaLeigh.  There was a clown there, “Stringbini” (string beany), and he scared my little Pinky to death (and she still talks about him every single day).  She clung to my mom, me, or her most favorite person in the world, “Je-be-je-ber” (her wonderful, amazing Sunday School teacher!)  I don’t think Pinky smiled the whole time we were there that day.

The Egg Hunt

The boys, showing off their loot.

P was so excited when he opened his egg.  There were 4 packages of Starburst candies in one big egg.  Starbursts are this maniac’s most favorite candy.  They announced there was a golden egg with $20 in it and he said, “Who needs $20 when you can have all these Starbursts!?!”

I tried to take a pic of my maniacs.  I failed!  AnnaLeigh was being so rotten!  She had this look on her face all day…just scowling at everyone.  It’s actually been her expression of choice lately.  Sassy little stinker!

I tried to get a pic of my maniacs with my sister’s maniacs.  Again, I failed!  So, we opted for the “crazy picture.”

We went to the lake to look at the fishies.

My dad (jokingly) said to the kids, “Watch those toes…you don’t want an alligator to get them.”  Please notice that LK has her foot dangling over the edge, while AnnaLeigh has scooted her little feet as far from the water as she can without falling on her face. :)

Because my previous pics didn’t work, I thought I would attempt a family pic.  Haha!

Here’s my attempt at getting my son to “straighten up!”

Here’s my attempt at getting AnnaLeigh to smile.  (Which she actually did for 2.3 seconds.)

Here’s the best pic we got.  Oh well, there’s always Easter family pics…right?  Ha!

Before we were really even finished with family pics, this happened…

I can just hear my mother saying, “If all your friends jump off a cliff, are you going to jump too?”

Lilly Katherine’s answer is going to be, “No ma’am.  I plan on leading them off the cliff.”  (as she giggles) :)  Goodness, I love this little maniac!

Ready…Set…Jump!

Giggle!  Giggle!  Cackle!

My girl knows how to have fun anywhere.  If she’s not having a good time, she’ll make a good time.  I love her joy and her love for life.  She brings excitement and lots of giggles to our family!

One last stop before we left the church…we had to get a balloon from Stringbini.

A basketball, a butterfly, and a tulip.

What a fun day!  The kids were exhasted by the time we left.  That’s typically our goal for whatever we’re doing, so it worked out well. :)

.

Off to bed before my eyes shut while I’m typing.  Still more pics from Easter coming tomorrow…and I have 3 more recipes to share.  They can’t all be in one post, but I’ll try to get it all up this week.  Nighty-night friends on the WWW!
