Quarantined!

Last week all 3 maniacs had Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. (As did half of our church)

It wasn’t fun for the maniacs!

It wasn’t fun the mama!

We were stuck in our house for DAYS and days and days!  Ok, 5 days, but it seemed like 5 weeks.  They were so uncomfortable, and their little mouths hurt so badly.  They had sores all in their mouths, so they couldn’t eat or drink anything.  They would be so hungry and so thirsty, but the instant food or even water touched the inside of their little mouths they would start screaming.  We finally gave in and just had ice pops, milkshakes, and smoothies for every meal.

One night after being INSIDE for 4 days, I decided we needed to at least get out of the house.  That day we made popsicles for lunch and popsicles for dessert.  I used this wonderful recipe for homemade fudgesicles from my friend’s blog, and it was a HUGE hit for all 5 of us!

We grabbed our fudgesicles and headed around the block…in our pajamas, of course.  They must have been unable to walk and eat at the same time, because by the time we got home all 3 maniacs were a yummy, sticky, chocolaty mess!  It was delicious and fun!  Thanks, Jana for the recipe and the sanity break!

“Um, Mama, I think I got a little on my nightgown.”

Seeing them happy made me very happy!

Bye-bye Hand, Foot, Mouth!  Please don’t ever come back.
