Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to my sweet, beautiful mama!

I love you!

Thank you for being a wonderful example.  Thank you for your tender heart and your strength.  Thank you for doing an amazing job of raising 3 perfect children.  Haha!  Thank you for loving us, working hard, disciplining us, showing us right from wrong, and teaching us that “Pretty is as pretty does.”

Thank you for being a woman of wisdom and integrity, a woman committed to the Lord and committed to making our family work.  Thank you teaching us to stand up for what we believe in, to serve others, to share, to care.  Thank you for talking to us.  Thank you for PRAYING for us and with us!  Thank you for crying at everything (because now I do it, too!).

Thank you for putting up with ME!  (surely that sweet face didn’t make you crazy…surely.)

I DO NOT know how you did it, as you worked full time and had a husband that traveled all week, every week.  This “mother” gig isn’t so easy.  I thought I was easy to raise.  Now that I am raising myself (Lilly Katherine), I might have been a little more of a challenge than I thought, and I am sorry.  I know you and God get a big kick out of that!.  I realize more every day that you are an amazing mother and you actually did know what you were talking about (most of the time). :)

I am thankful for you!  I love you, Mama!  Happy Mother’s Day!

Allow me to point out a few things about this picture.

1. Every piece of furniture that you see is still currently being used.
2. I have a rockin’ mullet
3. Though it looks like I’m saying “Heeeeey, Sic ’em Bears,” I am likely about to hit that poor bear as I can tell my mother is saying, “Kate, don’t be ugly.”
4. I don’t know why my daughters are feisty.
