Friday my sweet, wild maniac turned 5!\u00a0 I know I keep saying this, but they’re growing up before my eyes!!!<\/p>\n

Her birthday landed on Donut Day<\/a>, so we started our day with sugar!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Her birthday was the first week of school (she goes T\/Th mornings), and I took cupcakes to her class.\u00a0 Because I have a July birthday and never got to have a “party” in my class, it makes me so happy to get to take birthday treats to her!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Pinky enjoyed the cupcakes, too.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Lilly Katherine, AnnaLeigh, and Sara (one of LK’s best friends) posing for me.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Friday she opened gifts at our house…<\/p>\n

I, of course, gave her the gift I always wanted and never received.\u00a0 :)\u00a0 She will love it<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We also gave her dance lessons and a few “bal-narina” outfits.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Then this wild one got her little paws on a skirt…with her swimsuit on…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Saturday night we got together at Brad’s parent’s house for Lilly Katherine’s “family” birthday party.\u00a0 We are so blessed to have so much family in town, and we enjoy celebrating birthdays with them.\u00a0 She wants to have a build-a-bear party, so we’ll have just a few friends there…when I get around to planning it.<\/p>\n

I kept asking what kind of cake she wanted, and first she said an ice cream cone cake, then a butterfly cake, then a ladybug cake, then a Sammy-dog cake, and as I was putting her to bed Friday night, she still hadn’t decided what kind of cake she wanted.\u00a0 She sleeps with this little owl pillow and I jokingly said, “I can make you a cake like your owl pillow,” and she loved the idea.\u00a0 Soooo…here’s our VERY unplanned family b-day party.\u00a0 (Cake was made with Buttercream Icing recipe found here<\/a>, and Marshmallow Fondant.\u00a0 One day I’ll post that recipe.)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As we were swimming, the boys kept gathering up by the house and staring through the window.\u00a0 They were watching the Cowboys game on a TV inside.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Fancy Nancy backpack from Nana.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>…And Papa created a monster…an MP3 player for my 5-year old.\u00a0 She LOVES music and she LOVES this gift.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Happy Birthday beautiful girl!\u00a0 You are the light of our lives!\u00a0 Your smile lights up a room and you bring us so much joy!\u00a0 You have a precious, sweet heart, and we NEVER know what you’re going to say.\u00a0 You love people and people love you!\u00a0 You are wild, crazy, and fun…and you don’t sleep…ever!\u00a0 You keep us laughing, and I’m amazed at how easy-going you are.\u00a0 I thank the Lord for you, as you are exactly what I need!\u00a0 You make me a better person and help refine me as I see so much of myself in you.\u00a0 You are the best big sister in the world, and AnnaLeigh looks up to you so much.\u00a0 I love you more than you will ever know. I “get” you.\u00a0 I understand you, and I am so thankful for you!<\/p>\n

Thank you, Lord, for this little maniac.\u00a0 Thank you for blessing me with this spunky, precious child.\u00a0 Thank you for her smile and her thoughtful, generous heart.\u00a0 Thank you for her ability to play with others and engage others.\u00a0 Thank you for her hugs and her carefree look on life.\u00a0 Please help me to train this sweet baby girl the way you want me to, so that she will grow to be a woman after your own heart.\u00a0 I pray that this contagious smile will do mighty works for you.\u00a0 Please bless her with sweet friends, just as you have blessed me.\u00a0 Please help Lilly Katherine to BE a sweet friend to others and to be a good example.\u00a0 I pray, Lord that you give her wisdom and discernment with every decision she makes, that she will do things pleasing to you.\u00a0 Thank you for my birthday girl and the JOY she brings to our lives!<\/em><\/p>\n
