We had a wonderful weekend celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord!\u00a0 We celebrated by spending lots of time with our family!\u00a0 What a blessing they are!<\/p>\n

Friday night we had our annual Easter egg dying party at my brother-in-law’s parents’ house.\u00a0 We’ve done this for years, and the kids love it!\u00a0 Nancy boils DOZENS of eggs and lets the kids decorate them.\u00a0 We let the kids explain the Resurrection Eggs<\/a>, and it was so special to see how much the kids learned and remembered.\u00a0 I was blown away by how much sweet AnnaLeigh had learned.\u00a0 She is two years old, and that just proves to me that little ears are always listening even when you think they aren’t.\u00a0 The Bible promises us in Isaiah 55 that the Word of the Lord does not return void, so your babies are NEVER too young to hear about our Lord and Savior!<\/p>\n

I wish I had pictures from Friday night, but I didn’t have my camera.\u00a0 I have one blurry pic from my phone, but that’s it. :(\u00a0 Oh well, there’s always next year…I hope…right Bob and Nancy?!?\u00a0 (Thank you so much for your continued generosity to us and our maniacs!)<\/p>\n

Saturday was kind of a rough day.\u00a0 Brad was working and for some reason our house was meltdown central.\u00a0 I tried to hold it together, but by the time Brad walked in the door I was ready to quit.\u00a0 He ran to change clothes, and I tried to shuffle fussy kids into the car.\u00a0 We were very late meeting my parents for a “fun” evening, and just then the STINKIN’ (I’ll use that word instead of the word I would like to use) DOG got out.\u00a0 He’s such a pain…a cute pain, but a pain!<\/p>\n

My attitude was BAD.\u00a0 Preston’s attitude was bad.\u00a0 Lilly Katherine had hit some kind of horrible sleep-deprived wall, and she was freaking out because Sam was running away.\u00a0 Brad was exhausted from working all day.\u00a0 AnnaLeigh was antagonizing LK, because that’s her most favorite thing to do these days.<\/p>\n

I told the kids that we were all going to have an attitude change, starting with me.\u00a0 As Brad drove out of the driveway, I said we’re going to pray for a renewed spirit and positive outlook, and we were going to pray for a fresh start.\u00a0 About the time I bowed to pray, the maniac dog started chasing the car.\u00a0 We had to drive around the block as he ran beside us barking, but we finally got him in the house.\u00a0 At that point we were almost an hour late. (No surprise to anyone who knows us)<\/p>\n

I got back in the car.\u00a0 I prayed.\u00a0 I know that I personally felt better.\u00a0 I decided I was going <\/em>to have a good time.\u00a0 Sometimes I literally have to tell myself that, but whatever works for me to have a positive attitude…right, dear hubby?<\/p>\n

We pulled up to our beautiful church for family fishing and a picnic.\u00a0 My mom, dad, sister, Alan, Caleb, and Truett were already down at the dock, with picnic tables out, fishing poles lowered, and fish being caught right and left.\u00a0 All the sudden the day turned around.\u00a0 We had a wonderful time!\u00a0 The weather was absolutely amazing.\u00a0 The breeze was refreshing.\u00a0 The fish were biting.\u00a0 The crew was happy!\u00a0 I was happy! :)\u00a0 Thank you, Lord, for my family!\u00a0 Thank you for sweet, fun family times!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em>This is my sweet, intense, first born son.\u00a0 He’s so extremely tense that even fishing isn’t relaxing to the poor kid.
\n<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

But my big bug caught a fish, and that <\/em>made him very happy!\u00a0 Plus, it was the biggest fish caught since we had been there, and that made him even happier.\u00a0 He is just a little <\/em>competitive.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Then there’s this one.\u00a0 They could not be more opposite?\u00a0 She was just “sittin’ on the dock of the bay, watchin’ the tide roll away.”\u00a0 She’s not bothered by much, thank the LORD!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

She and Uncle Alan caught a big one.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

AnnaLeigh had fun fishing, too.\u00a0 She was fishing with Mimi.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

She was so proud of her little fishy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

“Hey lil fishy.\u00a0 How uh you?”
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Caleb and Alan on their professional rod and reel.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Truett and Papa.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

And…my father.\u00a0 His lips are a little too close to those fish lips if you ask me!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/em>Here’s a good idea of how things work around here.\u00a0 AnnaLeigh is 5 weeks older than Truett.\u00a0 They LOVE each other.\u00a0 They embrace every time they see each other as if they’ve been apart for weeks. It’s precious and sweet, but lasts only a few seconds.\u00a0 See below to find out why.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Truett is fishing.\u00a0 He’s doing just fine by himself.\u00a0 Along comes AnnaLeigh.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“What you doin, too-it?”\u00a0 (As she totally invades his personal space)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“Hey, yet me hewp you, too-it.”\u00a0 (As she smiles knowing exactly what she’s doing.\u00a0 He’s still thinking she’s just there to be sweet.)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Then he realizes her little scheme.\u00a0 She cackles as she tries to steal the pole.\u00a0 Truett is most upset…as anyone would be.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As I’ve said before, she’s small and mighty!\u00a0 This girl is a little fireball, and she is funny while she’s feisty.\u00a0 Oh, heaven help me!<\/p>\n

My mother, she kind of likes this little fireball.\u00a0 AnnaLeigh kind of likes her, too.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>My mother must love her if she’s going to let AnnaLeigh put dirty little fishy fingers on her mouth.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“Dat you nose?\u00a0 You need to blow you nose, Mimi?”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Before we left our little fishing hole, Preston made one last catch.\u00a0 He kept saying, “I think I’m getting something!\u00a0 Just wait one more minute.”\u00a0 Well, he got something.\u00a0 He caught a little turtle.\u00a0 It was the perfect way to end our perfect fishing trip.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>My baby boy was so excited!\u00a0 He hasn’t stopped talking about his big catch!\u00a0 He was “the only one who caught a turtle, you know.\u00a0 It was the bigger than the fish, too.”\u00a0 (As I said, just a little competitive…but I’m thankful he is!)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Thank you, Mama and Diddy!\u00a0 We had a wonderful time!<\/p>\n

Thank you, Lord, for all the creatures that swam below us, all the birds that flew above us, for the breeze that blew by us, and your Love that surrounds us.\u00a0 Thank you for thinking of so many amazing details!\u00a0 Thank you for a blessed family time!<\/em><\/p>\n
