{"id":1560,"date":"2011-03-29T04:20:28","date_gmt":"2011-03-29T04:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/therealhousewife.com\/blog\/?p=1560"},"modified":"2011-03-29T05:29:15","modified_gmt":"2011-03-29T05:29:15","slug":"run-girl-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/therealhousewife.com\/blog\/run-girl-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Run Girl Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My dad.\u00a0 I call him Diddy.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know why, but I do.\u00a0 He&#8217;s kind of out of control.\u00a0 I love him, and he makes me crazy.\u00a0 He would say the same about me.\u00a0 We are so much alike&#8230;both always right! :)\u00a0 At the same time, I am definitely daddy&#8217;s (diddy&#8217;s) girl, and he is a wonderful daddy!  He would do anything for us or his grandbabies.\u00a0 I am extremely blessed to have him in my life, and I truly am thankful for the example he&#8217;s been to Brad, my kids, and me&#8230;but don&#8217;t tell him I said that. ;)<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>My dad sings, plays the guitar, and has loved music all his life.\u00a0 When I was growing up he worked out of town most of the time and was typically only home on the weekends.\u00a0 However, when he was home he spent many evenings singing in our rooms.\u00a0 He sang Cats in the Cradle, I&#8217;m Leaving on a Jet Plane, Fire and Rain, Sweet Baby James, and many other James Taylor songs.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>When Brad and I got married my dad\u00a0wrote a song for our wedding.\u00a0 We made him record it just in case he choked in the middle of singing.  We knew we needed a backup.\u00a0 He made it through better than any of us thought he would, and it was so special and so sweet.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>When Preston was born he wrote a song for him.\u00a0 As each grandchild has come into the family, they have been welcomed with a song.\u00a0 A few years ago, with MUCH prodding from the family, my dad actually went to a studio and recorded many of his songs.\u00a0 This was prior to the births of AnnaLeigh and Truett (my nephew), but the CD is full of very special songs.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>This morning I got an email from him asking me to look at a youtube video he had just completed.\u00a0 I just have to share it.\u00a0 My dad wrote the song Run Girl Run for Lilly Katherine, and this week he made a video to go with it.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve watched it at least 4 times today&#8230;make that 5.\u00a0 Yes, I&#8217;ve cried every time.\u00a0 I just can&#8217;t believe how big my baby girl has gotten.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>When you watch, listen for the sweet little baby cry at the beginning.
